World’s Largest Bikini Parade

On March 6, 2012, just before noon, a group of bikini-clad women broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s Largest Bikini Parade in Panama City Beach, Florida. Participants traveled from as far away South Dakota, Alaska and Maine to be in the record-breaking parade. 450 women, gathered to walk the parade route from Harpoon Harrys to the Miller Pier and back, managed to break the record held by Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast of Australia, where 357 women took part in a bikini march last October.

The rules state that participants must be women, and cannot wear tankinis, one-piece suits, shorts or cover-ups; otherwise, those individuals would not count as part of the record. They were also required to wear an official pink Bikini Parade hat which signaled to officials which women were part of the one-mile march along the pristine sands of Panama City Beach. “This is not something you see every day, the organization to put this together was incredible,” the Daily Mail quoted Philip Robertson, Guinness World Records adjudicator as telling news channel WJHG.
